The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has fired recruits for the post of Assistant Commandant in the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has fired recruits for the post of Assistant Commandant in the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). Under this, 78 recruits will be made in BSF, 13 in CRPF, 69 in CISF, 27 in ITBP and 22 in SSB. For selection to the post of Assistant Commandant, applicants have to pass the written examination. Interested applicants can apply till 6 pm on 7 September 2020. Eligible applicants will be issued an e-admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. This certificate will be made available on the UPSC website.

What is merit
Applicants must be Indian citizens for selection to the post of Assistant Commandant. Also, applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree. Apart from this, the applicants should not be less than 20 years and 25 years or more on 1 August 2020. However, SC and ST category applicants will be given 5 years relaxation in age limit, 3 years for OBC category applicants and 5 years for ex-servicemen.

How will choose
Written examination will be conducted for the selection of qualified applicants. This exam will be held on 20 December 2020. It will have two papers. The first paper will be of 250 marks and objective type questions related to General Ability and Intelligence will be asked. This paper will be held from 10 am to 12 am. The second paper will be of 200 marks and will contain General Studies, Essays and Comprehension. This paper will be conducted from 2 to 5 pm. Applicants who pass the written examination will also have to pass the Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards tests. After this the interview will be done which will be of 150 marks. The final selection will be according to the merit list based on the marks of written examination and interview.

For recruitment in CAPF, UPSC will set up exam centers in these cities across the country – Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizwal, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal , Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Port Blair, Prayagraj (Allahabad), Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati , Udaipur and Visakhapatnam. It is noteworthy that exam centers will be given on the basis of first application, first allot.
