According to a survey by global consulting and advisory firm Willis Towers Watson, the average wage increase in 2021 is estimated to be 6.4 percent. This increase is slightly higher than the average year 2020 average increase of 5.9 percent. However, personnel performing the best capacity can get increments of up to 20.6 percent. According to the survey, business optimism is now visible in India after the Kovid-19 crisis, although it is yet to have its full impact on the salary increase.
Lowest increase in energy sector
The survey said that high-tech, pharmaceuticals and consumer products and retail projects can achieve an average wage increase of around 8 per cent, which is higher than the usual increase. 7% growth is expected in financial services and manufacturing sector and 6% in BPO sector. The energy sector is expected to witness the lowest growth of 4.6 per cent.
Low budget, high efficiency is the scale –
According to the survey, Indian companies will prioritize retaining high-skilled talent with a lower budget than last year, and there may be more emphasis on pay based on performance. The report said that high salary and consumer product firms are expecting more salary hike. However, business process outsourcing will happen. On the other hand, the energy sectors are projected to offer the lowest growth.
