Several important decisions have been taken in the recent Cabinet meeting chaired by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur. Of these posts, 976 posts are for male constable, 267 posts for female constable and 91 posts for driver. Apart from this, the Cabinet has also given its approval for the recruitment of 32 vacant posts of Leading Fireman, 11 vacant posts of Driver cum Pump Operator.

According to media reports, the application for police constable recruitment is likely to start in November 2020. Candidates have to apply in online mode. The entire process related to the online application will be done on the official website of Himachal Pradesh Police, citizenportal.hppolice.gov.in.

HP Police Constable Selection Process 2020
The selection of candidates will be based on Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written test. Notification will be issued soon on the official website. After the notification is released, the candidates will be able to get the detailed information about the educational qualification and other related eligibility. After being questioned for the past few years on the written examination for police constable recruitment, the police headquarters is now going to change the recruitment process. Now the State Staff Selection Commission is planning to conduct the written examination. According to the information, its proposal has been prepared and sent to the government. If this proposal gets the approval of the government, then all the responsibilities from preparing the written examination question paper to conducting the examination will be with the Staff Selection Commission.
