About MJPRU University
Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJP Rohilkhand University) is a public university in Uttar Pradesh, India and the campus is spread over 206 acres. M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was established in 1975 as an affiliated university. Its status was upgraded to an affiliate-cum-residential university in 1985 when four teaching departments were established on the campus. Three more departments were added in 1987. In August 1997, Rohilkhand University was renamed Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. The campus has an administrative building, faculty building, central library, multipurpose hall, hostel for boys and girls, staff quarters for the Vice-Chancellor and another university official, faculty members, non-teaching staff, guest house and sports complex. Senior faculty members from various disciplines in Humanities, Science and Technology are undertaking research projects funded by various agencies and so far 49 projects funded by UGC, AICTE, DST, CST, ICAR, ICHR, MIF have been completed. More than 450 colleges are affiliated to the university in Bareilly, Moradabad, Sambhal, Rampur, Bijnor, Amroha, Budaun, Pilibhit and Shahjahanpur districts and around five lakh students enroll for the exam every year.
