Indian Army Women Officers Permanent Commission: The Ministry of Defense has taken a big decision for women officers who serve the country by going to the army. The Ministry of Defense has also issued a formal acceptance letter regarding the grant of permanent commission (PC) to women officers in the Indian Army. With this decision of the Ministry of Defense, women officers have now got the right to equality in the Indian Army.

This decision by the Ministry of Defense is based on all ten streams of the Indian Army i.e. Army Air Defense (AAD), Signals, Engineers, Army Aviation, Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), Army Service Corps, Army Ordnance Corps (AOC), and Judge and Advocate General. (JAG) and Army Educational Corps (AEC) in addition to Intelligence Corps.

It is notable that earlier this month, the Supreme Court gave the central government one more month to implement its decision to provide permanent commissions in the army to all serving SSC women officers. But due to the Kovid epidemic, the Center asked for a month’s time.

It is noteworthy that while delivering a historic verdict on 17 February, the apex court directed the women officers in the army to give permanent commission and command postings, completely rejecting the logic of gender discrimination and physical limitations of women.
Now the formal announcement of the Ministry of Defense has paved the way for empowering women officers to take up large roles while serving in the army.

Under this new revenge, now all affected SSC women officers will use their option to submit the desirable documents on the selection board.

Till now, there was a provision to give permanent commission to only those army officers who are male soldiers who served in the Army for 14 years in the Short Service Commission (SSC). But women did not have this right. After the Supreme Court’s decision and the formal announcement by the Ministry of Defense, now women in the army have got the right to equal male officers.
