The online registration process for the GATE exam 2021 will begin on September 14, 2020, and will end on September 30, 2020. The result of the GATE 2021 examination is to be declared on March 22, 2021.

According to the brochure, the GATE 2021 computer-based examination will be held from February 5 to February 14, 2021, at various centers spread across the country. For more information, candidates are advised to read the GATE 2021 information brochure.

What is GATE exam
GATE is an All India exam which tests extensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects mainly in the fields of engineering and technology.

Candidates can fill the form on the official website gate.iitd.ac.in. Candidates will also be given a window to modify their application forms.
To apply for GATE 2021 exam, candidates have to follow the steps given below:
- First of all, the candidates should visit the official website, ie GATE http://gate.iitd.ac.in/ will go on
- Click on the GATE 2021 section on the home page
- Enter the registered email ID and mobile number for registration on the new page
- Then, log in with enrollment ID and password.
- Enter all the required details and pay the application fee
- Click to submit
All the test papers of GATE 2021 will be completely objective type. The pattern of questions may include (i) multiple-choice questions (MCQ), (ii) multiple selection questions (MSQ), and / or (iii) numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
The examination will be conducted on 24 subjects which will include Engineering, Aerospace, Architecture and Planning, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology etc. The exam will consist of objective type questions and will be conducted in online (computer-based) mode. The candidate can appear in any one session only in one paper.
Based on GATE 2021, students will be eligible for admission to master and doctoral level programs in IISc and IIT. Those candidates who pass GATE are also eligible to apply for a government job.
Candidates should note that for every wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark. However, there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers in NAT questions. GATE is an all India engineering examination conducted for admission to postgraduate programs in Indian higher education institutions.
The GATE exam will be conducted as an online computer-based test (CBT). On the website, it is clearly mentioned that the candidates have to apply and fill the application through online mode only on GOAPS, while the link will be made available on the official website of GATE.
The application fee is paid electronically. The application fee is neither refundable nor transferable. The application fee for female candidates is Rs 750 for SC / ST / PWD category candidates and Rs 1500 for all other candidates.
