Govt Jobs: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for Combined Medical Services Exam 2020. Interested applicants can submit the online application form by 6 pm on August 18, 2020. Applicants must apply online. Submission of application through any other means will not be accepted. Applicants must fulfill all the necessary qualifications to take the online examination. Eligible applicants will be issued an e-admit card 3 weeks before the commencement of the examination. This admit card will be available on the UPSC website. Admit cards will not be sent via post. There will be 2 objective papers in this written examination to be conducted for Combined Medical Service. Both these papers will be conducted on computer based mode. Explain that applicants will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, Bluetooth or other communication devices at exam centers. So don’t take it all together.

What is merit
For admission it is necessary that the applicants have passed the written and practical papers of the final MBBS examination. The applicant must not be 32 years or older on 1 August 2020. SC and ST category applicants have been given 5 years relaxation in age limit. OBC category applicants have been given a relaxation of 3 years in this age limit.

How many empty posts are there
There are 182 posts of Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Service in Catagiri 1. 300 of the Railway’s Assistant Divisional Medical Officers in Railway in Catagiri 2, 66 of Assistant Medical Officers in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service, 4 of General Duty Medical Officers in New Delhi Municipal Council, and 2 of General Duty Medical Officers in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi. Consists of 7 posts of Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation.

What will be the exam pattern
UPSC’s Combined Medical Services Exam will be conducted in two parts. A computer based exam of 500 marks will be held in Part One. At the same time, the personality test of 100 marks will be taken in the second part. The first paper of computer based exam will be of 250 marks in which 96 questions of General Medicine and 24 questions of Pediatrics will be asked. The second paper will also be of 250 marks in which 40 questions of surgery, 40 questions of gynecology and obstetrics and 40 questions of preventive and social medicine will also be asked. Both the papers of Part 1 will be of 2–2 hours. Applicants who pass computer based exam will be called for interview / personality test. Selection will be done on the basis of computer based exam and interview.
